We’re Joining the ICWC!

Big News:

Boulder Shack Is Joining the ICWC!

We’re incredibly proud to share something huge - not just for Boulder Shack, but for the entire UK climbing scene.

From the 1st of September, all Boulder Shack memberships will include free access to the other walls in the Independent Climbing Wall Collective (ICWC) - a brand new not-for-profit project created by our very own Boulder Shack founder, Tim Miller.

What Is the ICWC?

The ICWC (Independent Climbing Wall Collective) is a powerful new collaboration between single-site independent climbing walls across the UK. It connects like-minded walls so that climbers like you can enjoy one free visit every month to any other ICWC wall - no vouchers, no hassle, just more climbing.

Whether you’re travelling for work, visiting friends, or just up for a day trip, you’ll now have a growing network of walls to explore - all included in your Boulder Shack membership.

Who’s In So Far?

We were aiming to launch on 1st August, but we’ve pushed the date back just one month to 1st September to make sure everything is rock solid and fully tested.

Here’s the current list of ICWC founding walls:

• Boulder Shack (Southampton)
• The Project Climbing Centre (Poole)
• Rhino Boulder (Bromley, South London)
• Mile End Climbing Wall (London)
• Golden Gecko (Romsey)
• Indirock (Southend)
• The Bunker (Torquay)
• 270 Climbing (Gloucestershire)

…and more are joining in the run-up to launch!

Why It’s Great for Boulder Shack Members

This new benefit is completely free and included with every type of Boulder Shack membership - even one-month memberships. You’ll get one free credit per month to use at any other ICWC wall.

That’s on top of everything you already get as a Boulder Shack member - now with added adventure, variety, and value.

Plus, by being part of this, you’re helping support the entire independent climbing scene. Every membership helps keep brilliant, unique, single site walls thriving across the country.

What You Need to Do

Nothing at all!

If you’re already a Boulder Shack member, you’ll automatically be part of the ICWC - no need to sign up or activate anything. Your free monthly credit will be ready to use from 1st September, and you’ll receive a simple email on the day with everything you need to know about how it works.

Just make sure your email address is up to date on your Boulder Shack account - and then start thinking about which wall you’ll visit first!

Why We’re So Proud

Tim Miller - our founder and the brain behind Boulder Shack - is also the driving force behind the ICWC. This is a grassroots, community-first project that’s set to change the game for climbing walls like ours. We couldn’t be prouder to see Boulder Shack lead the way.

Get Ready to Explore

Your first ICWC credits will land on September 1st - ready to use right away. So keep an eye out for updates, check out the full list of participating walls at www.independentclimbing.org, and start planning your first adventure.
