The café

The heart of the Shack, and the reason nobody leaves.

Ask anyone who climbs here what keeps them coming back and they will not say the walls. They will say the sofas.

Where everyone ends up.

This is where people end up. Sat with a coffee arguing about a problem, waiting for a child to finish their club, or turning up on their own and leaving with three people to climb with next week.

Proper coffee, cake worth staying for, hot food, board games, table football and a view straight onto the wall. It is open to anybody, climbing or not.

The café is open whenever the centre is.

Worth knowing

Three things.

  • You do not have to be climbing

Come in for a coffee and sit down. Spectators pay nothing and nobody will ask you why you are here.

  • Members get 10% off

Every climbing membership includes it, on food and in the shop. It adds up quicker than you would think.

  • The best seat for a parent

The café looks straight out over the walls, so you can watch a junior club session with a coffee rather than from the edge of the mats.

Opening times and how to find us

Come for the coffee, stay for the climbing.

Or the other way round. Either is fine, and neither costs anything to try if you are only watching.
